Last season the Bearcats won their first America East Softball Title in program history. With most of the starting lineup and pitching staff returning they were picked to finish first in the America East preseason poll. Certainly repeating as champions would be nice, but that doesn't mean they're feeling the pressure to do so.

"In practice we've been working a lot on consistency and just like working on live defense and trying to make sure we have the little things down, said Sydney Harbaugh, three-time First Team All-Conference selection. "We're just really excited. I don't think pressure is a thing to worry about right now."

"I think a goal of ours is to be better than we were last year and so hopefully that means winning another conference championship," said Head Coach Michelle Burrell. "But we've been working a lot as a team on things that we learned last year so ultimately our goal is to work to be better."

BU opens the season on February 19th in the Mary Nutter Tournament in California against UC Santa Barbara and University of the Pacific.
