Police: Suspect arrested in Kansas shooting

RUSSELL, Kan. (KAKE) - Shane Slack has been arrested, police say.
Slack was taken into custody on Jan. 10 without incident.
Police also say that the man that was shot, Cecil Aldridge of Russell, has died.
The investigation is still ongoing.

Police in Russell, Kansas are looking for a man they're calling armed and dangerous.
47-year-old Shane Slack is a suspect in an aggravated battery.
On Monday, January 9, 2023, around 2:28 p.m., police took a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 1300 block of N. Fossil ST. Upon arrival, they found a 45-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The man was taken to Russell Regional Hospital and later flown by EagleMed to a trauma center in Wichita, KS, where he remains in critical condition.
During the investigation, Slack was identified as a suspect. Slack fled the scene in a black 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup with the license plate of 725 RMV.
Shane is described as a white man, 5’11”, 160 pounds, and has blue eyes. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a black shirt, and a leather “biker-style” vest.
Police ask if you see Slack, please call 911, and do not approach him.
