We are well into the winter season which means for many, heating bills are starting to rise.

Dominion Transmission, an interstate pipeline company, provided a $10,000 check to NYSEG and RG&E today to help provide assistance through the Project SHARE Heating Fund.

NYSEG and RG&E have participated in Project SHARE Heating Fund since 1982. The project helps customers who are facing an energy emergency and have exhausted all other funding options. According to NYSEG, approximately 1,400 individuals and families benefited from Project SHARE grants last year.

Mark Lynch, President and CEO of NYSEG and RG&E said, "We feel that we are part of the community, we're here, we're here for you in an emergency, we're here for you in the day to day activity. We also need to be here when people are stretched and our low income customers are basically at wit's ends about meeting the heating load especially in the winter. So we feel a lot of pride in the communities we serve and we want to be part of those communities.

AVANGRID Foundation, Inc., a private foundation which receives funding from AVANGRID companies like NYSEG and RG&E also supported the project by donating $400,000.
