Johnson City's medical marijuana dispensary will be opening on Thursday.

Ari Hoffnung, CEO of Vireo Health of New York, will join Dr. Stephen Dahmer, Chief Medical Officer, to officially open Vireo’s medical cannabis dispensary at 589 Harry L Drive in Johnson City on Thursday, January 28 at 10:30 a.m.

New York officially launched it's medical marijuana program January 7th.

The cannabis at 20 dispensaries throughout the state will only be provided to those who have qualifying conditions. These include cancer, HIV or Parkinson's disease. Only authorized patients or certified caregivers will be allowed in the dispensary.

Vireo Health of New York is a New York-based company that was awarded one of five licenses in the state to manufacture and provide pharmaceutical grade cannabis-based medications, formulated to help patients suffering from a wide variety of medical conditions. Vireo Health is currently serving patients at its other dispensaries in White Plains and Queens.
