A fatal shooting took the life of a man in Utica Saturday morning.

According to police they responded to a report of an injured man on the 1100 block of Leeds St. around 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Authorities say when they arrived to the scene, they found the body of man who sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Police received information that there was a large after hours party that took place nearby, and that the victim may have attended it.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the victims identity and the investigation into the cause of the incident is continuing.
