A Binghamton man has been arrested for breaking a home’s window with a bird feeder pole in Johnson City.

Shawn M Ampula, 36, was arrested Saturday after Johnson City police received a complaint of a male attempting to gain entry into a residence by breaking a window.

According to police, Ampula was observed by the homeowner breaking a front living room window by thrusting a metal birdfeeder pole through the window several times. He was located by police a short distance from the scene.

JCPD also received a second complaint a short time later where Ampula was identified as entering another residence prior to being arrested.

Ampula is being charged with Felony Criminal Mischief. He was later released on an appearance ticket.
