U-E's Mackay commits to Oregon State

When picking a college at which to play sports, it helps to pick a location with a long history of said sport. That's why U-E senior Emily Mackay is headed to Oregon State. Eugene, OR is aptly known as Tracktown, USA and Oregon State is just 51 miles south making it a great choice for Mackay to continue her athletic career and grow as a runner.
"It's going to be a big adjustment, she said "I'm going to go from being a big fish in a small sea to a small fish in a big sea. I'm going to have a lot more competition and I'm not going to start every race up front. I'm going to have to learn how to run in the middle of a pack. There's a lot of girls, a lot of competition. I'm excited for that."
Mackay will run track and cross country, competing during all three seasons.
She plans to study kinesiology.
