BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators snapped the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 11-game win streak with a 3-1 victory in front of a packed house at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena. Five B-Sens players tallied points in the win while Michael Kostka, David Dziurzynski and Cole Schneider all finished with a goal and an assist a piece.

Kostka opened the scoring just over 2 minutes into play tallying his first goal as a B-Sen. The defenseman took a shot from the top of the blue line 19 seconds into the power play to score his first goal of the year off assists from Schneider and Patrick Mullen. Schneider brought the score to 2-0 for the home team after scoring his team-leading eighth goal of the year with less than two minutes remaining in the first period. Similar to the first goal of the night, Schneider ripped a shot from the blue line past a screened Matt Murray with Kostka and Dziurzynski picking up the assists. The B-Sens took the 2-0 lead into the locker room despite being outshot 16-7 by the Penguins.

The Penguins cut the B-Sens lead to 2-1 after Dominik Simon put home his sixth goal of the year. Carter Rowney whiffed on a puck in front of B-Sens goalie Chris Driedger which then rolled free and Simon hit it top shelf to pull it to a one-goal game with less than five minutes remaining in the middle frame. The teams went into the final intermission with the B-Sens leading 2-1 but trailing 34-18 in shots on goal.

The B-Sens held the lead and added an insurance goal with 1:14 remaining in the game after Dziurzynski put home his fifth goal of the year in an empty Penguins’ net.

Driedger finished with 40 saves to earn the win while Murray stopped 28 shots in the losing effort.

The B-Sens take tomorrow off before heading to Toronto for a 3:00p.m. matchup against the Marlies on Sunday, November 22. Fans can listen live on US Country 96.9FM, WINR 680AM or on the iHeart Radio App.
