It may have only been an exhibition, but there's a lot of positive to take out of BU's 92-53 win over SUNY Cobleskill. For a team that struggled a lot a year ago to shoot the ball, the Bearcats came out guns a-blazin' on Friday to the tune of 54.4% from the field including 12-25 from downtown. John Schurman and Romello Walker each converted four three-pointers on the night.

In addition to good shooting, Head Coach Tommy Dempsey thought the Bearcats moved the ball well, indicated by 19 assists. Shooting the ball well and passing the ball well are two big parts of season-long success.

"I thought we passed the ball better than we have in the past and I thought that led to a better quality of shot," Dempsey said. "I thought we were very unselfish and when you get open shots there's certainly a better chance you're going to make those. I thought we worked the ball well together and got open shots. Shooting is contagious both ways. If nobody's making shots that can kind of snowball on you, if guys start making shots and the crowd gets into it, I there thoughtwas a good feeling in the gym and when that starts happening, shots are more likely to go in."

BU travels to Olean, NY on Friday for the start of the regular season against St. Bonaventure.
