Binghamton police are still investigating a crash which sent an officer to the hospital.


Police say just after 7:40 Monday night patrolman Matthew Hodnik was responding to a call when a vehicle struck his at the intersection of Hawley and Isabel Streets. Police say Hodnik had his lights and siren activated when he was struck by the vehicle driven by an 81-year-old man.


Hodnick was treated and released at Wilson Hospital. the driver of the second vehicle refused medical attention and was ticketed for failing to yield. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Binghamton Police Detectives at 772-7080.
