B-Sens fall to Crunch on the road 2-1

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators droppedthe first road game of the season 2-1 to the Syracuse Crunch. Jeff Tambellininotched both of the Crunch goals while Kristers Gudlevskis stopped 27 of 28shots faced to earn the victory in net for Syracuse.
Tambellini scored thelone goal of the first period when he managed to beat the B-Sens’ Matt O’Connorover the glove hand to give the hosts the 1-0 lead. Syracuse skated to the intermission with a1-0 lead and an 8-7 advantage in shots on goal.
Binghamton responded with the only goal in the secondperiod when Cole Schneider recorded his first tally of the year on ashorthanded goal 4:58 into the frame. Schneider managed to outskate a Syracuse defender to thepuck in the neutral zone and beat Gudlevskis one-on-one on the backhand.
A penalty filled thirdperiod appeared to yield nothing for either team, but just as the B-Sens returnedto full strength Tambellini fired home his second of the night to give thehosts the 2-1 victory.
Both Binghamtonand Syracusefinished 0-for-5 on the power play while O’Connor stopped 24 of 26 shotsfaced in the losing effort.
The B-Sens return toaction on Tuesday when they travel to St. John’s for a 6:00p.m. (EST) faceoff against theIceCaps.
