An end-of-summer tradition continued Friday night in Johnson City as the Village kicked off it's 48th annual Field Days.

Some very summer-like weather greeted those who enjoyed the rides and foods at Northside Park. The Field Days will go through Monday, when you can enjoy the big finale - the fireworks show.

"I hope that it is a great memory maker for kids. Some of my fondest memories, right before school started, was Field Days. It was the end of the year party, you always looked forward to Field Days. Yes, it meant the end of summer, but it was always an exciting time," said Co-Chair of JC Celebration Committee Diane Salva.

Saturday Lourdes Hospital will have its Mobile Mammography van at the field days in the afternoon. The Field Days will run from noon to 11pm Saturday through Monday.
