Locals Enjoy Music at Rec Park

Music lovers of all ages are gathering at Recreation Park in Binghamton for a day of live music and fun.
Sunday more than 1,000 people attended the 20th annual Rec Park Music Fest. This year's seven musical numbers ranged from contemporary rock, blues and bluegrass to jam band and Americana. The event all started when members of the local band The Rhythm Gypsy's wanted a place to play music outside, and now they say it's turned into much more.
"20 year in, I never thought I'd make it five or 10. I used to joke when I started that I didn't want anyone to even attend, and now I'm well into that. So it's become kind of a tradition for everyone. So it means a lot to me. It's important to me and it's important to the community," said Producer/Community Volunteer of the Rec Park Music Fest Jim Reyen.
"It's wonderful. It's a chance for people to get together and just enjoy," said Endicott Resident Eileen O'Brien.
Organizers say this year's turnout is one of the greatest they've had in recent years.
