An 18-month-old child is back in the hands of his mother after an active Amber alert was issued Friday evening.

New York State Police released details Sunday, on the arrest of the child's father Henry Kellam in Madison County.

Police say Kellam kidnapped the child Friday at 6:50 p.m. when the initial Amber Alert was issued.

The alert was cancelled hours later after a multitude of tips were quickly turned in from the public. Reports claim Kellam was involved in a domestic dispute with his son’s mother, in the Village of Oxford and previously had all visitation with his child suspended by a court order.

Police say during this incident he forced the child's mother from his vehicle and fled with their son.

Currently, the child is in good health and remains in the custody of his mother.
