Not only have the bearcats had success on the diamond, winning three America East titles since 2009. But they've had success off the field as well having four players drafted in the last four years.

Jake Thomas is the most recent draftee , going to the Toronto Blue Jays in the 27th round of this year's draft. As head coach Tim Sinicki says, like most recruits, Thomas was not draft ready out of school but they've built a program that turns those kind of players into pro ball players and prove that you don't have to go south to find good baseball.

"Professional scouts, it's their job to find the hidden nugget that exists at Binghamton University as opposed to the guys at Miami or Florida State that everybody knows about. I think that's where we've been successful, convincing guys that because of our track record, if you're good enough, come here and develop your skills and if you're good enough you'll get an opportunity. So far it's really worked out for us in recent years," said Sinicki.

"Just a great coaching staff, great group of guys that they bring in, great faculty members who work all around the campus. It's just a good program, good athletic department, and it was awesome to be a part of it for four years," said Thomas.

Thomas was ranked top three in the America East this season in batting average, on base, and slugging percentages and was a three time first team all-conference selection.
