Langer looks to become first repeat DSGO Champ

No player has won back-to-back Dick's Sporting Goods Opens. In fact, in the short history of the event, no player has ever won it twice. Brad Faxon is the only golfer ever to win two consecutive tournaments at En-Joie back in the days of the BC Open (1999, 2000). Joey Sindelar is the only other golfer to win two tournaments at En-Joie, both BC Open wins in 1985 and 1987. But, the defending Dick's Sporting Goods Open champion is World Golf Hall of Famer Bernhard Langer.
Langer is coming off a career year. In 2014 he won five tournaments and topped the Schwab Cup points list and the Champions Tour money list. If anyone can do it, Langer could certainly be the one.
"I hope so. It's not easy to win two years in a row, but it's been done at other venues. So maybe I could be the first one and make history that way," Langer said.
Tournament play for the Dick's Sporting Goods Open begins August 28.
