The final stages of the two-year Riverside Drive construction project in Binghamton will be finished by the end of the summer.
Construction begins April 15th and continues through April 24th between Chapin and Murray streets. Workers will reconstruct the streets while placing new water and sewer lines. Once that work is complete, they will place a final coat of asphalt next month.
"And then also next month, phase two will begin which is from Beethoven Street all the way to the Johnson City line. Full street reconstruction, side walks, and curbs were applicable. and of course, the water and sewer lines as well, said Mayor Rich David.
The Mayor says detours will be clearly marked and drivers should reduce speed and be aware of the construction signs in the area.
