Job Fair at SUNY Broome Draws Hundreds From Southern Tier

More than 70 employers were looking for potential employees at the SUNY Broome Ice Center on Thursday.
The SUNY Broome/Martin Luther King Jr. job fair drew hundreds, including many soon-to-be graduates. The Director of Job Placement at SUNY Broome says that not only does the employer connection help their students get jobs but employers can also talk to classes, conduct mock interviews, and take part in panel discussions. One job seeker says that events like this help a great deal.
Jeanne Conklin of Pennsylvania said, "It means everything. To me personally it means everything because the online thing is so impersonal and you feel like you're just throwing it into an abyss when you send it. So it's very wonderful to have a face to face meeting with someone."
In total, more than 500 job seekers passed through SUNY Broome Thursday in hopes of finding a career.
