Organizers have announced the date for the second annual " I Run For..." half marathon.

The race will take place on Sunday September 20th at 8 am starting at the Town of Maine Park.

It's all in an effort to raise funds for cancer research at Cornell's Medical College and to empower individuals to continue the fight against cancer.

Co-race Director Steve Seepersaud says he and his wife founded the race after his wife's sister was diagnosed with breast cancer.

"What can we do to help the larger community? And cancer is so prevalent among us, it just seems these days if you live long enough you're going to be affected by this in one form or another. Either you're going to be stricken with it or somebody that's a loved one," said Steve Seepersaud, Co-President of the "I Run For..." Half Marathon Organization.

The entry fee is $45 per person, with a special price of $30 to cancer patients and survivors as well as active military personnel.
