VESTAL, N.Y. – Junior outfielder Sydney Harbaugh and junior pitcher Cara Martin have each been honored by the America East. Harbaugh was named the conference's Player of the Week while Martin was tabbed the Pitcher of the Week.

Harbaugh hit a team-best .643 as Binghamton swept four games at the Myrtle Beach Tournament this past weekend. She went 9-for-14 with a pair of home runs and five RBI. She also drew three walks and stole a pair of bases. For the week, Harbaugh had a .706 on-base percentage and a 1.143 slugging percentage.

This marks the second time in her career that Harbaugh has been named the America East Player of the Week. She was also selected on April 20, 2014. In addition, Harbaugh was the conference's Rookie of the Week on Feb. 18, 2013.

For the season, Harbaugh is batting .400 with three home runs and 14 RBI. She is also 9-for-10 in stolen bases.

Martin, meanwhile, went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA this past weekend at the Myrtle Beach Tournament. She tossed a three-hit shutout against Manhattan on Sunday in a game that went five innings. Against Rider the previous day, Martin came on in relief and pitched four scoreless innings. For the week, she scattered just four hits and issued three walks.

In her first season after transferring from Rhode Island, Martin is 3-1. Her lone defeat, however, was a 1-0, eight-inning decision at then No. 21 Arizona State on Feb. 28.

"Both Sydney and Cara had fantastic weekends for us," head coach Michelle Burrell said. "Cara keeps getting better with every game she plays and is willing to work hard to keep improving. Sydney has been very consistent for us throughout our first three tournaments, but I thought she really got comfortable in the box last weekend."

Binghamton has now posted the America East Player of the Week in two of the first four weeks of the season. Freshman third baseman Kate Richard swept both the Rookie and Player of the Week awards back on Feb. 17.
