Tigers look to stay 'relentless'

Using one word to describe his team, U-E Head Coach Joe Alger calls his Tigers "relentless." The Tigers were often counted out this year after graduating a lot of firepower from last year's team, and yet, here they are, Section IV Class A Champions. Last year in AA, U-E took down Mount Vernon before falling in the state semis, but this year, Alger likes his Tigers chances.
"These guys just continue to work day in and day out," Alger said. "We talked about sacrifice before the game and the things we sacrificed all year: the workouts that we did at Binghamton University over the summer, getting practices on Saturday mornings at 8am. They're just relentless. They have that will to work every day and just whatever it takes to get the job done, they have. We've been in a lot of battles this year. The games we've lost, we lost by a few, the games we won, we won by a few. They've been battle tested all year and they just don't give up."
U-E travels to SUNY Purchase for Tuesday's Sub-Regional against Section One's Spring Valley.
