Conklin Economy Gets National Attention

Conklin is receiving national attention as the town continues to consider seceding from the state of New York in response to the governor's ban on fracking and poor economic conditions.
Fox Business News was in the Town of Conklin Thursday speaking with Town Supervisor Jim Finch and others in favor of fracking.
Finch hopes the national spotlight will encourage state leaders to visit the Southern Tier and discuss ways to address the economy.
"We're finding the way we can to bring attention to what we need here. I mean our skilled workforce is leaving, there's no jobs, the economic conditions are bad, the unemployment rate is bad and we're looking for a way to survive," says Finch.
According to Finch, he will continue to consider the idea of secession until something is done to boost the region's economy.
