The New York Attorney General has reached an agreement with a Binghamton-area company over the sale of salvaged air bags.

According to Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Don's Automotive in Colesville sold hundreds of untested airbags to consumers and auto repair shops throughout the United States which is a violation of New York State law.

According to Schneiderman the company agreed to pay a $12,500 civil penalty to the state and will comply with the law that requires all airbags to have a nationally recognized testing before being sold.
