Tax Pros Say Two Weeks Left to File Taxes
For those who haven't filed your income taxes yet you've got about two more weeks to do so.
But tax professionals are reminding you not to wait until the very last minute. The last day to file your taxes is April 15.
Tax pros are saying they haven't quite seen the rush of last minute filers just yet.
"Procrastinators as we call them are just starting to filter in we won't see a few of them for about another week -- week in a half. So seeing a situation this year where a lot of people got documents late so even people who would have normally would have filed a month ago are just starting to come in because they just got the last of their paperwork," said Gerri Harrison, President at Revolving Enterprises.
If you need more time you can always file for an extension.
Tax officials say anyone can get an automatic extension until October 15th for an individual return.
However an extension only extends the time to file it doesn't allow for more time to pay back money owed to the IRS. Head to irs.gov for more information.
