EXPERIENCE AND JOB SKILLS: FOX 40 and MY 8 Binghamton television stations are looking for a creative and goal oriented person. This salesperson will call on existing accounts as well as being expected to lead and develop the creation of new revenue through Internet and emerging media. The ideal candidate will have the ability to generate new ideas, have good presentation skills, the ability to juggle multiple projects, and a sense of urgency. Valid drivers license is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generate revenue through existing accounts and new business
- Generate revenue through the Internet and other emerging media
- Put together and execute projects from start to finish
- Develop new ideas
- Coordinate with various stations departments including promotions, production, traffic and accounting
- Follow all company and station guidelines and policies

Weekend Sports Anchor /
Fox 40 has an immediate opening for a dynamic broadcast talent to be the Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter. The Southern Tier has a rich history and a wide array of sports. Candidate will have access to the Division I Binghamton University Bearcats, Double A Binghamton Mets, AHL Binghamton Senators, and more than 40 high schools with competitive athletics. In the fall, candidate will co-anchor and coproduce the area's only weekly high school football program "4th and Goal."
Must be able to shoot, edit, and write own material for nightly newscasts. Excellent time management skills and a tireless work ethic are a must for this position. Fox 40 is looking for an anchor that can look past The final score and point totals and tell the story of the game. The Binghamton area is the perfect area for anyone who has an all sports, all time kind of passion to continue their Career in sports broadcasting.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- strong on-air presence
- works well under deadline pressure
- well versed in all major sports (emphasis on local athletics)
- degree in journalism or communications field
- excellence in producing and writing for television
- ability to learn nonlinear editing (knowledge of Final Cut software is a bonus)
- strong videography skills
- ability to carry up to 50 lbs. of equipment in the field
- good problem solver

We offer internships year-round (Fall, Winter,
Summer, & Spring Semesters). Interns will assist
with the the production of the 10 o'clock evening
broadcast. Duties will range from (but are not
limited to) assisting / shadowing reporters with
field and inhouse work, filing, data input and
research for pursuing stories.
Students must receive credit for the internship through an accredited college or university. Must be at least a Sophomore to apply.
