Town of Union Man Charged With Felony While In Custody

A Town of Union man is facing a felony charge after allegedly destroying an interview room chair and door handle while in custody at the Broome County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say 41-year-old Masai Andrews tried using the chair to pry open his handcuff and then kicked the door handle. He was charged with one count of criminal mischief, a felony.
Andrews was taken into custody on Saturday, April 20, 2024, after he was arrested for obstructing governmental administration at the "Smoke Weed Outside the Binghamton Police Station" event.
