Local National Record Holder to Bowl for Molloy CollegePosted: Updated:
Union-Endicott senior Ashley Ciccarelli signed her National Letter of Intent to bowl for Division II Molloy College on Long Island. She has had quite the career with the Tigers. Since 8th grade Ciccarelli has had one of the top averages in STAC and Section 4. She has been on State Section 4 teams 8th through 11th grade and this past February during sectionals she broke a national record for high school girls by bowling an 854 series with games of 258, 296 and 300. That record still stands today. that feat allowed her to advance to nationals in Indianapolis this summer where she finished 20th out of 270 bowlers. Ciccarelli who started bowling when she was 3 taking after her father and grandfather says it's a dream come true to be able to bowl in college.
"It started from my family so it's been a family token that I've carried on through my teen years," says Ciccarelli. "The people I met through it is amazing. It;'s that spark of electricity when you throw the ball and continue to hit those strikes, there's really nothing like it."
Ashley will be majoring in Psychology and hopes to become either a Psychologist or Psychiatrist.
