Palmer to Play for THE Ohio StatePosted: Updated:
We had another high school athlete commit to playing at the next level as Maine-Endwell senior Sam Palmer has signed her national letter of intent to play field hockey at Ohio State University. Along with being a 2-time State Champion, the Buckeyes are adding a player that was first team All-Section 2016 though 2019, second team All-Region in 2017, first team All-Region in 2018 and 2019, and First team All-State in 2018 and 2019. Palmer also plays lacrosse and off the field is a member of National Honor Society, the Youth mentoring Program at Homer Brink Elementary, and is a coach for the youth field hockey program/ She says this is absolutely a dream come true.
"Oh 100%. When I was younger I never thought I'd be at this point," says Palmer. "I just worked really hard to get to this point and I'm just really excited to go to that school."
Palmer is undecided on what her major will be at this time. She will be joining Whitney Point graduate Leanne Bough on the Buckeyes and Spartans teammate, junior Jenna Zunic, will join the team after she graduates from Maine-Endwell.
