United Way of Broome County Hosts a Costume Giveaway

Posted: Updated:

United Way of Broome County and the Vestal Rotary Club invited the community to come enjoy this year's Autumn Celebration featuring free costumes, snacks, and activities on Saturday.

Beginning the event with 250 different costumes, almost every single one was picked out by the end of the first hour. Hosted at the United Way of Broome County's office in Vestal, the celebration included a Halloween Costume Giveaway for children of all ages — no admission fees or costs for the costume giveaway, although only one costume was permitted per child.

"It's just really great to be able to have these kids who might not otherwise have their choice of a Halloween costume to come enjoy themselves and pick out a costume," said Member of Vestal Rotary Club Siobhan Davey.

While attendees had the opportunity to take pictures at a photo booth, sip on apple cider and munch on some donuts, they could also have fun with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies baseball mascot, Rowdy.

This is an annual event for United Way, where they are looking to collect 500 costumes for next year.
