Blues on the Bridge Brings Crowds

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -

Blues on the Bridge closed down the Walking Bridge in the City Of Binghamton today, September 8th.

Hundreds of visitors enjoyed tunes along Riverside Drive and Water Street from noon to 9pm.

"One of the million reasons I like doing this is because there's a lot of people out there maybe are struggling financially or whatever, they can come here and have a really really good time for free! That's the whole thing, it's a free community event for all of Broome County to come and have a good time, and it doesn't cost them a dime," said Tom Martinos, organizer and promoter for Blues on the Bridge.

12 bands performed to celebrate the end of the summer season

"Our goal is to always have fun. That's the goal, have fun. This event we've been doing for 18 years has gotten bigger and bigger," said Don Wilkins, music coordinator and founder of Blues on the Bridge.

Guests could also enjoy craft vendors at the event.
