2019 High School Football Training Camp: Union-EndicottPosted: Updated:
"Win the Now", that is the motto this year for the Union-Endicott Tigers football team, and it speaks for itself. It is all about living in the moment both on the field -- and more importantly -- off the field -- both in the classroom and in the community. While winning is always a goal for this Tigers team, it is always a tough journey when you are playing in one of the toughest sections in all of new york state.
The tigers graduated 20 seniors last year, and prior to the season, the coaching staff was worried if they would get those numbers back. Safe to say, they got them back and then some. As of right now, the team has 53-players signed up for their roster, with most of them being returners. Head coach Tom Baleno says that a lot of players in the junior class are going to be key components for a tough season ahead.
"Being successful in Section IV football is difficult. You have to put in the commitment, the work ethic, have to have a great attitude, and you have to have a sound football program. It's not easy when there are great programs in the area that we all play against, and you have to be top-notch to rise to the top."
The Tigers open up their season on September 6th, where they'll take on Waverly at Ty Cobb Stadium.
