Two Arrested After Guns, Drugs Seized in Castle Creek

CASTLE CREEK, NY -

Two people were arrested on Wednesday after officers discovered a number of firearms and a small amount of Crystal Meth, Fentany, and Suboxone strips in Castle Creek.

The arrests comes after the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant at 1096 Castle Creek Road in Castle Creek. 

Shane P. Karika, 36, of Castle Creek, and Charles R. Morris, 47 of Johnson City, are facing a number of weapons after officers located a 7.62 x 39mm SKS rifle, a 12 gauge shotgun and a loaded revolver. 

The two are facing the following charges:

  • Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, class A Misdemeanors
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a class C Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a class D Felony
  • Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, class A Misdemeanors

Charles R. Morris                 

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a class C Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a class D Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, a class A Misdemeanor

Karika and Morris are currently being held at the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility pending their arraignment Wednesday night at the CAP.
