Walk Along the 'Path Through History' This Weekend

Make your way along the Path Through History this weekend, June 15th-16th, to learn about Broome County’s rich history and culture.

The two-day event offers experiences at more than ten sites throughout the area, including:

  • Broome-Tioga Suffrage Anniversary Committee
  • Preservation Association of the Southern Tier (PAST)
  • Tri-Cities Opera
  • TechWorks!
  • Roberson Museum and Science Center
  • City of Binghamton Recreation Park Carousel
  • The Bundy Museum of History & Art
  • Your Home Public Library
  • Davis College
  • Historic Goodwill Theatre
  • Binghamton Zoo
  • The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier
  • Kirkwood Historical Schoolhouse Museum
  • The Bundy Museum of History & Art
  • Phelps Mansion Museum
  • Evergreen Mortuary Chapel
  • Candor Historical Society
  • Bement-Billings Farmstead
  • Tioga County Historical Society

Organizers are expecting hundreds of visitors and community members to travel the path this weekend and support local businesses.

"A wonderful weekend for the community, for our residents and our visitors to get out and visit some of our historic sites. And just to have an enjoyable day, and also, we hope to visit the nearby restaurants and with their friends and family,” says Lora Zier of Broome County Planning.

Aside from enjoying the historic sites and businesses, they hope viewers will take away a bigger message.

"It's really about learning those individual stories that we have throughout the county and that there are throughout the state that makes you, number one, proud to live here but also helps you to learn because you've gotta learn from the past so that you can move forward,” says Judi Hess, the Director of Visit Binghamton.
