Binghamton Vet Center Celebrates 40 Years of National Service

Posted: Updated:

The Binghamton Vet Center hosted an open house in honor of 40 years of vet centers nationwide.

Established in 2009, the Binghamton Vet Center on Chenango Street offers readjustment counseling services to qualified veterans and their families. Other services offered include military sexual trauma counseling and grief counseling for families. All of their services are free and counseling is provided by other combat veterans.

The Vet Center offers various group activities including yoga, puzzle groups, and more.

"We're a warm, welcoming, safe, secure environment," said office manager Jason Davis. "If there is a service member who is struggling with isolation, thoughts of suicide, PTSD symptoms in general, I strongly suggest they come down. There are a ton of veterans struggling with similar issues and seeking similar services."
