Rumble Ponies Suffer No-Hitter in Series Opener

Posted: Updated:
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -

Portland pitchers Kyle Hart, Daniel McGrath, and Adam Lau combined for a no-hitter in Thursday's series opener. The 2-0 loss to the Sea Dogs was Binghamton's first no-hitter suffered since September 2017 and the first at home since the 2013 season.

Luke Tendler singled Bobby Dalbec home twice for the win. Thursday's loss marked manager Kevin Boles' first game coached against his former organization, the Boston Red Sox.

"We're trying to establish a certain mindset as to what we're going to do with the New York Mets," said Boles ahead of Thursday's game. "It's great to compete against these guys I've worked with for the last 11 years."

The Rumble Ponies have three chances at redemption this weekend, the first on Friday night at 7:05 pm.
