Deprez Brothers Are Heading To Nationals TogetherPosted: Updated:
Vestal, N.Y. - The Deprez brothers can certainly check something off their bucket list as their dream has officially come true. Lou and Vincent DePrez are headed to the 2019 NCAA Championship together for the very first time in their careers. Anthony, Lou and Vincent DePrez all wrestle for Binghamton University, but redshirt freshman Lou DePrez and redshirt senior Vincent DePrez will be two of the four Bearcats competing for a national championship this weekend.
"I wrestled with him all of my life" said Lou. "From watching him wrestle here the last few years and then for me to come here and have a big impact this year, it's really been great."
Lou highlights the Bearcats with a No. 11 seed in his 184 pound weight class. His older brother on the other hand, finished with a career high in the EIWA Championships (third) earning him a No. 27 seed at 174.
"Sharing this experience with my brother will be great" said Vincent. "Especially since it's my last tournament, so, to be able to do it with him on a stage like this, it's awesome."
Lou will be making his first ever appearance in the NCAA tournament while Vincent will be making his last, this season will conclude his time here in Binghamton.
"My relationship with Lou and his brothers is phenomenal" said head coach Kyle Borshoff. "They've been a big part of the programs surge towards the top. I expect a lot of them every time they wrestle. I expect these guys to wrestle hard and to win and they win a lot, so it's nice to have."
The NCAA Championships will be held on March 21-23 in Pittsburgh, Pa. For the third consecutive year NCAA Championships will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks
