Tears And Cheers In State Playoffs

Posted: Updated:

Syracuse, N.Y. - Friday and Saturday left teams either with tears or smiles as their season either ended or teams continued their quest to the state championship game.

In Class C, Susquehanna Valley football defeated Holland Patent 43-7. SV's Billy Sheridan scored three touchdowns on the game, giving him the MVP award.

The Sabers play Cleveland Hill Saturday November 16 at 11 p.m. at Union-Endicott.

However, in Class B, there was anything but a blow-out. Chenango Forks led Skaneateles for the majority of the game. However, the Lakers recovered a Jakop Topa fumble and returned it for a 48 yard touchdown with 6:28 remaining in the game. The game was decided by the last second as Lakers quarterback Patrick Hackler scored on a QB sneak to seal the deal with a second remaining in the game. 27-26 was the final.
