PORT DICKINSON, N.Y. -

Showing potential inside and outside of the classroom. That's what 14 local high school students have done to earn the SUNY Broome Presidential Honors Scholarship.

To receive this award students must complete an intense high school curriculum, including AP, Honors and college course work.

One of those students said this has made SUNY Broome the perfect fit for her to purse her nursing degree.

"It's a really big honor and I'm so thankful for my donor and for this opportunity to be able to get an education here," Gloria Stracquadanio, a recipient, said.
