UPDATE: Man Involved in Town of Richford Shooting Surrenders

UPDATE

Friday, July 6, 2018: 

The Tioga County Sheriff's Office issued an arrest warrant on Friday, following the investigation of the Town of Richford shooting. 

The warrant is for Devin I. VanBrut, he is wanted for the felony charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Firearm. Officials said additional charges are pending. 

Tioga County Sheriff’s detectives responded to an early morning shooting that wounded two people in the Town of Richford on Thursday. The incident took place on 48 Light Road, where investigators believe a party was going. According to the department's Facebook page, officers responded to  Light Road at 1:23 a.m. for a report of one person suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officials say a further investigation revealed the shooting involved two people and both had left the scene before deputies arrived. 

Deputies said his last known address is in Ithaca if you have any information on his location you can contact the Tioga County Sheriff's Office at (607) 687-1010.

Monday, July 9, 2018:

According to a news release from the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, VanBrunt surrendered to Tioga County Sherrif Investigators at the Town of Tioga Municipal Court on Monday.

VanBrunt was charged and arraigned on the following charges: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a Class B Felony; Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a Class E Felony; Criminal POssession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a Class C Felony and Assault in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.

VanBrunt was remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
