NY State Regional Softball Highlights

Two remain, and two are eliminated from contention of a New York State Softball Championship title. Saturday, high school softball Regionals wrapped up across the State, leaving teams like Horseheads and Edison without a chance to continue in the post-season.

Here are your final scores from around the Softball Regionals:

Class AA

  • Minisink Valley - 3  def.  Horseheads - 2  Final

Class A

  • Maine-Endwell - 9  def.  Port Jervis - 2  Final

Class C

  • Sandy Creek - 1  def.  Edison - 0  Final

Class D

  • Deposit - 12  def.  Eldred - 1  Final

Noteworthy statistics:

Deposit's Aubrin Smith blasted a grand slam in the first inning, turning out a 4 for 4 evening. Her teammate Makenzie Stiles allowed only 1 run against Eldred, her first run-allowed in the last 12 games.

M-E Spartans' starting pitcher, Emily Hess, struck out 11 Port Jervis batters in the win.

Horseheads' Kendal Cook notched a two-run homerun in the loss to Minisink Valley.

Maine-Endwell's post-season will continue Saturday at Moreau Recreational Park in Saratoga County for the Class A Semi-Finals against Averill Park, at 11:30 a.m.

Deposit will look to reach the Class D Championship after facing North Collins, Saturday at Moreau Recreational Park, 1:30 p.m.
