JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. -

As Police Memorial Week continues, the public will have a chance to learn more about law enforcement Friday and Saturday at the Oakdale Mall.

“If you have a question about your car seat or you want us to check it and make sure it’s installed properly that we’ll do that for you also. “
– Joseph Hommel, New York State Police Sergeant

A number of displays and demonstration will be throughout the mall during the two-day event.

“This week is the police memorial week where we remember our fallen officers and today and tomorrow we’re in the oakdale mall to get out and meet the public in a more relaxed setting, answer questions, just talk about whatever the public wants to talk about," said State Police Sergeant Joseph Hommel.

Events going on Saturday include a live K-9 demonstration from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and a Bomb Squad demonstration at 2 p.m.

There will also be a Child Safety Seat Inspection near Key Bank in the mall parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“If you have a question about your car seat or you want us to check it and make sure it’s installed properly that we’ll do that for you also," said Hommel

Officers will be at the mall from opening to close.
