Fire Destroys Trailer Home in ConklinPosted: Updated:
No injuries were reported after a fire tore through a mobile home in Conklin Thursday morning, leaving it completely destroyed.
Conklin Fire Chief Bill Gorman said they received a call around 8:20 a.m. for a fire at the Pride Manor Mobile Home Park at 1832 Conklin Road. By the time they arrived on the scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames.
Seven departments responded to the 2-alarm fire and were able to get it under control within 30 minutes. Despite the quick action, the trailer was gutted.
Gorman said a female resident was taking her child to the bus stop and upon returning, saw smoke coming out from a trailer. When she realized it was her own home, the woman went inside to rescue her pets and none were injured.
Preliminary reports by fire investigators found that it may have been an issue with the stove.
There was minor damage to an adjacent trailer.
Three residents of the home are being assisted by the Red Cross.
