Woman in Norwich Arrested for Endangering Welfare of a Child

NORWICH, N.Y. -

On Monday morning, the Norwich Police Department arrested Jennifer M. Rahn, 31, on several charges including a Class D felony Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a misdemeanor. 

The Assault charge alleged Rahn, who was declared "homeless" by police, intended to cause physical harm to a person less than seven years old. In this investigation, Police said Rahn caused a physical injury to a child less than two years old.

Rahn was arraigned before Norwich City Court and was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. She is due back in court on Thursday, April 12th. 

The child was treated at Chenango Memorial Hospital and released into the custody of Chenango County Department of Social Services.
