Man and Dog Rescued from JC Apartment Fire

JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. -

A man and a dog were rescued from a fire at a Johnson City apartment building Monday night.

Just before 7:30 p.m., the Johnson City Fire Department responded to 10-12 North Broad Street and found heavy smoke pushing from the roof and flames coming from a third-floor apartment on the right side of the building.

The Binghamton Fire Department, Endicott Fire Department, Prospect Terrace Fire Department, Choconut Center Fire Department, and Broome County Fire assisted.

The male victim was rescued and transported to Wilson Hospital. No word yet on his condition.

Residents displaced from the 9 unit, 3 story apartment building are getting assistance from the Red Cross.

A dog was rescued, and no other injuries were reported.

An investigation into the cause is ongoing.
