PA Men Arrested After Troopers Find Loaded Handgun In Vehicle In Kirkwood

BINGHAMTON, NY -

A traffic stop on Saturday led to the arrest of two Pennsylvania men after New York State Troopers found a loaded handgun in their vehicle.

Binghamton troopers arrested Kody Kemp, 22, of Friendsville, P.A., and Scott Maxey, 30, of Montrose, P.A. Neither man possessed a valid gun permit.

Kemp was arrested for the felony of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree and the misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree. 

Maxey was arrested for the felony of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree.

According to troopers, the vehicle was traveling at a high speed on Colesville Road in the town of Kirkwood.

Upon investigation, troopers found a loaded gun and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Maxey was remanded to the Broome County Jail, and Kemp was remanded to the Broome County Jail on $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
