Right here in Broome County, hundreds of friends, families and fans of Section IV basketball took to the Maines Veterans Memorial Arena, Saturday, cheering on their high school basketball teams in the Class A and B Championships.

In Girl's Class A; Seton Catholic Central met the Maine-Endwell Spartans with a dominating performance. Marina Maerkl and Julia Hauer controlled the paint, netting 18 points a-piece. The Seton Saints would go on to beat the Spartans, 69-51 and win their third-straight Section IV title. The Lady Saints will continue their season with an intersectional game against Section I Champion, Rye, at Johnson City High School, Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

Over to the Boy's Class A title match; Maine-Endwell and Johnson City competed for all the marbles. But it was the Spartans that claimed victory over the Wildcats, 77-69 was the final score.

For the Girl's Class B Championship; undefeated Susquehanna Valley welcomed a "red hot" Owego Free Academy Indians team, that snapped the 20 game win-streak of Waverly, Wednesday. The SV Sabers went to work on the glass, nearly doubling Owego's offense. Lady Sabers claim the Class B Championship, 75-43 was the final.

And in the Boy's Class B Championship; Seton Catholic Central put their undefeated win-streak against STAC opponents on the line against Owego Free Academy. In the first half, the Owego Indians held a one point lead over Seton, but coming out of the locker room in the second half the Saints outscored the Indians by eleven points.
