BINGHAMTON, NY -

The group overseeing economic development projects for the Southern Tier approved 26 plans for $20 million in state funding Wednesday.

This is the seventh year the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council will submit priority projects.

Officials say if approved, the projects would create over 400 jobs.

The council also had a status update on the $500 million in upstate revitalization money.

Harvey Stenger, co-chair of the Regional Economic Development Council said,

We still have about $380 million left in our upstate revitalization initiative fund, so some of those projects could go after those fundings as well.

Detailed information on the projects will be posted on the council’s website on October 2nd.
