Hudson Valley, NY -

The Seton girls basketball team did not hesitate to put their foot on the gas pedal in Friday's 79-54 win over Beekmantown in the Class B State Semifinals.

Junior, Ava McCann got the Saints started off on a 9-0 run hitting three straight three point shots to start the game. McCann had 16 points in her efforts.

"Oh my gosh, just so much excitement and so much emotion. You know, we've worked so hard to get here and to be here is just so amazing, we had a great fan turnout, we're so grateful to have a great coach and fans who have been there all the way, said McCann."

Leading the way in the box score again for the Saints was Senior, guard, Lexi Levy. Levy dropped 22 points in the game after going off for 30 in the state quarterfinals.

"We feel great, we felt great for the last six games, getting out ahead. We've felt great all season but we feel really good about tomorrow, said Levy."

The third leading scorer for the Saints Friday was Junior, Hanna Strawn who added 15. Strawn guaranteed a state championship after winning the Class B Section IV Title, and she is just one win away from completing her promise.

"That just gave us so much confidence that we're just like 'we're finally here' we really can do this. We've worked so hard for our whole lives and it's right in front of us, said Strawn."

It surely is... Seton will play Section One's Irvington in the State Finals, Saturday at 4:00 pm. Fox 40 will have complete highlights of that game Saturday night at 10:00 pm.
