Kerry Longobucco

Kerry Longobucco is a reporter and fill-in anchor at Fox 40.

She was born and raised in Connecticut, but has fallen in love with the Southern Tier since moving here to pursue her on-air career in August 2014.

Kerry's passion for journalism was born when she was just a little girl. She would wake up early to catch her favorite anchor, Kerry Connelly, on the morning news.

Kerry is a proud graduate of UConn, where she majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Women's Studies. During her time at UConn, she was an anchor and reporter at the university's cable TV station, UCTV.

She spent her senior year of college interning at NBC Connecticut News, where she also worked as an assignment editor. It was an invaluable experience that allowed her to truly understand the importance of the behind-the-scenes roles in the newsroom.

But ultimately, Kerry had to chase her dream of being a reporter -- which is what brought her to the Binghamton area. She was a reporter at WBNG Action News before making her way to FOX 40. The highlight of her experience there was traveling New York state in June 2015, covering the manhunt for two inmates who escaped from a state prison.

At Fox 40, Kerry specializes in crime, public safety and breaking news. She believes the ultimate responsibility of a journalist is to protect the public's right to the truth. She says the best stories usually come from asking the toughest questions.

When she isn't chasing down leads, she's spending time with her family of three, plus her two dogs, Bentley and Boston. She loves hiking, shopping and reading.
