Councilwoman Webb Speaks Out About the New Grocery Store in her District

A Binghamton City Council woman who's been waiting for years for a grocery store to come to her district is speaking out about a plan that would do just that.

Lea Webb says she knows there's still work to be done to make the new development announced by Mayor Rich David a reality.
The new development would be  in the former Big Lots building on West State Street.

The $4 million project will revamp the space into a 10 to 14 thousand square foot shop called Grocery City Market.
Webb is excited about the new addition to the area but has seen other plans fall through in the past.

Councilwoman Webb says, "We do want to make sure that all of our i's are dotted and t's are crossed because we have been down this road before. So, we want to make sure that we really have this project go completely through."

The new grocery store will be in the newly named West State Street Plaza and is expected to open by Spring of 2015
